Shea Gordon has been inspired by the Dead Sea and the ships and vessels used to navigate these celestial waters. By recreating the embryonic shape and form of the Dead Sea into a boat, she creates a reflexive interpretation of journey of life and calls attention to the slow decline of the historical landmark's declining water line. Shea Gordon is currently producing a project to create a clear vessel to sail at the Desert X program in Palm Springs in February of 2017 and plans to take this vessel back to the Dead Sea for a full circle completion. She hopes her art brings awareness to these dire ecological circumstances and aims to heal the precious Dead Sea.
